Diploma
Discipline : HR & People
Study Mode: Both (Self Paced & Structured) / Start any time
The Diploma in Human Resource Management builds on foundational knowledge to develop applied, organisation-level competency in managing HR functions across a business. The programme deepens learners' understanding of HR planning and systems, including recruitment and selection strategy, performance management frameworks, and compensation basics, and develops practical skills in workforce planning, training and development, and employee relations at the departmental and organisational level.
Learners engage with job analysis, performance appraisal methods, and structured problem-solving in workplace conflict, applying these tools to realistic organisational scenarios. The programme also introduces the people side of HR management — employee engagement, internal communication basics, and the role of leadership in sustaining a positive workplace culture — reflecting the balance between the systems side (policies, processes, documentation) and the people side (culture, leadership, engagement) of HR practice.
Case studies are drawn from manufacturing, healthcare, hospitality, and service-sector organisations, giving learners exposure to how HR principles apply across diverse industries relevant to the Sri Lankan economy. On successful completion, graduates are equipped for roles such as HR Executive, Recruitment Officer, or Training Coordinator, and are eligible to progress directly into the Higher Diploma in Strategic Human Resource Management and Business Excellence.
